Changes on Specification for UMTS (3G) and LTE (4G) Handsets and Related Equipment & New Technical Specification for License-exempt LPWAN Device
1. Changes on Specification for UMTS (3G) and LTE (4G) Handsets and Related Equipment
- Remove 2010-2025MHz and 2570-2620MHz.
- All mobile phones, tablets, Smart watches and mobile computer must contain CITC E-label.
- Mobile phones must comply with the Technical Requirements On Mobile Devises to Enable Cell Broadcast Service (CBS) Alert https://www.citc.gov.sa/en/RulesandSystems/RegulatoryDocuments/EquipmentApproval/Documents/TA_704_E_CITC.pdf
- All network based equipment (including mobile phones, tablets, Smart watches and mobile computer) must support all LTE bands (b1, b3, b8, b20, b28, b40, b41(2540-2640MHz) as a requirement for equipment approval and Customs clearance.
→ Pursuant to notice from CITC, this requirement has been revised for only AVL and IoT devices that must support the LTE bands (b3, b8, b20, b28) to be type approved and released by the customs, and effective from February 4, 2020.
