Malaysia SIRIM updates on certification requirements

MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission) announced Wireless approval updates on 14 May, and explained details on all the changes and also some of the unclear requirements on 27th May 2019 meeting. Following is the summary.
1. For most SRD product , new option is to submit required photos without sending a sample, but with certain requirements and criteria to be meet.
  • Because SIRIM has many requirements for photos, we strongly suggest to send a sample to local agent who knows requirements well, to avoid the delay when SIRIM asks for new photos or a sample.
  • The delivery time for this new option keeps 4 to 5 weeks.
2. Previously, only for Networking product, SIRIM can accept Reports issued more than 5 years with additional charge for “Standards evaluation“, all other products should be submitted with Reports issued within 5 years. Now SIRIM opens this option to all types of products, but still will be charged additionally for “Standards evaluation“.
3. The delivery time for Parallel and Parallel by comparison application is shortened to 3~4 weeks from 4~5 weeks.
