Egypt Updates on Tight Type Approval Scheme

NTRA (The National Telecom Regulatory Authority) of Egypt updates Tight type approval scheme for communication equipment on January 2, 2020.
Major changes:
1. Update list of tight scheme lab, and Group A accredited labs in China list was reduced to four labs. http://www​.tra​.gov​.eg/en/regulation/type-approval/DocLib2/Doc%2003​.pdf
2. For Tight Scheme, reports issued by Group B labs (currently no China lab in Group B) need prior approval from a Group A lab after review and assessment in coordination with NTRA.
3. For Tight Scheme, manufacturer must notify the Group A lab who issued the VoC in order to inspect the shipment and issue a pre-shipment Verification of Conformity (PVoC) certificate. Such certificate shall contain the shipment details like the manufacturer, importer, port of shipping and arrival, invoice number, brands, models information and serial numbers (IMEI numbers in the case of mobile equipment). PVoC must be submitted to NTRA before shipment arrival either by submitting the original hard copy or sending an email with the soft copy from the Group A lab to the NTRA directly. Tight Type Approval procedures are completed after 1st shipment passes its local inspection.
