DEKRA Invited to Share 2021 V2X Industry Outlook and Analyze Testing and Certification Technologies on ITRI ICT TechDay

Annual ICT grand event 2020 ITRI ICT TechDay “Realizing 5G Futures” ended successfully on September 22nd, which attracted around 1,200 participants. The organizer ITRI invited experts in industries to share the trend and evolution of industries, and also exhibited more than 20 most updated key technologies. Stan Zurkiewicz, Executive Vice President DEKRA, was invited to be the speaker of "Autonomous Vehicle / V2X session", and shared "2021 V2X Industry Outlook and Analysis of Testing and Certification Technologies" with lots of audience.
Stan began with the 3GPP V2X development and evolution from R14 to R17, then mentioned that 5G brings new capabilities for the connected vehicles, including extreme throughput, edgeless connectivity, high reliability, low latency, and high availability. He also analyzed the V2X communication technology and the frequency bands used in main countries. Stan said, DEKRA is the only V2X testing and certification service provider addressing all main regulatory and industry alliances featuring indoor and outdoor testing. DEKRA is also the only testing and certification provider with DSRC, ITS-G5 and C-V2X (4G, 5G) laboratory and test track capabilities. Furthermore, DEKRA also maintains deep engagement with standard alliances, such as 5GAA, OMNIAIR, ETSI and other organizations, to conduct cross-industry technical test and verification activities. For instance, the first 5GAA C-V2X interoperability testing event is successfully hosted in 2019 by DEKRA in Klettwitz, Germany at DEKRA’s autonomous and connected driving testing site, as well as the largest manufacturer-independent testing center for autonomous and connected driving in Europe. At the same year, the first Global ETSI/5GAA C-V2X Plugtest was also organized by DEKRA in DEKRA’s autonomous and connected driving development and testing site in Málaga, Spain.
