DEKRA Becomes One of the First Wi-Fi 6 Authorized Test Laboratories

Recently, DEKRA were authorized by Wi-Fi Alliance respectively to issue Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6™ certification. In consequence, DEKRA has been fully qualified to implement the full range of Wi-Fi Alliance certification programs and provide testing and certification services for products with Wi-Fi 4, Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 technologies.
On September 16th, 2019, Wi-Fi Alliance officially launched the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6™ certification program. This certification indicates products with higher wireless speed, lower latency, longer battery life and less network congestion. Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6™ provides the foundation for a range of emerging applications, from streaming Ultra HD movies to critical commercial applications that require high bandwidth and low latency, and ensures connectivity and efficiency in large, high-load network environments such as airports and train stations.
Wi-Fi 6 technology bases on IEEE 802.11ax and previous Wi-Fi technologies to bring advances to Wi-Fi devices and networks. With a series of new technologies, Wi-Fi 6 technology has advanced capabilities, including orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA), which can improve network efficiency and reduce latency for both uplink and downlink traffic in high-demand environments; Multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) allows more device connections and data transfers; 160 MHz channel increases bandwidth of router; Target wake time (TWT) significantly improves network efficiency and battery duration of connected devices , including IoT devices; Transmit beamforming enables higher network capacity by increasing data rates at a given range;1024 quadrature amplitude modulation mode(1024- QAM) improves throughput in Wi-Fi devices by encoding more data in the same amount of spectrum.
