Taiwan BSMI issues new and revised regulations
The following three regulations will be released on 2022/2/22:
1.Legal Inspection Requirements for Headphones
2.amendment of "Legal Inspection Requirements for Printing or Copying Machines and 30 Other Commodities"
3. amendment of "Legal Inspection Requirements for Electric Pencil Sharpeners and 21 Other Commodities"
1. Main point for Legal Inspection Requirements for Headphones
BSMI intends to regulate the inspection requirements for headphones. Two alternative conformity assessment procedures are made available for the choice of applicants, i.e. Registration of Product Certification (RPC) or Type-Approved Batch Inspection (TABI).
Date of implementation: 1 January 2024
BSMI now can accept applications for Type Approval or Registration of Product Certification for listed commodities.
2. Main point for amendment of "Legal Inspection Requirements for Printing or Copying Machines and 30 Other Commodities"

Date of implementation: 1 January 2024
The revised inspection standards listed in the table will come into force on 2022/02/22 and the current inspection standards will become invalid from 1 January 2024. The gateway of item 29 will be subject to mandatory inspection from 1 January 2024.
For a commodity described in a declaration of conformity declaration of conformity will be invalid from 1 January 2025 if declaration of conformity are not updated according to the revised inspection standards before 31 December 2024.
3. Amendments to the Legal Inspection Requirements for Electric Pencil Sharpeners

Date of implementation: 1 January 2024
For a commodity described in a declaration of conformity, declaration of conformity will be invalid from 1 January 2025 if declaration of conformity are not updated according to the revised inspection standards before 31 December 2024.
