Morocco ANRT Publishes New Type Approval Decision
The Agence Nationale de Réglementation des Télecommunications (ANRT) of Morocco published Decision 16-24 on January 20, 2025, on type approval of radioelectric devices. The new Decision features the following updates:
1. ANRT may request 2 samples for testing after technical documentation review. If testing is required, ANRT reserves the right to keep the samples after testing.
2. Leadtime is now 15 business days.
3. Labels have been updated and are applicable to devices granted a type approval certificate and import permit. ANRT will publish an official label template soon clarifying the color required for labeling.
4. Labels should be affixed to the device itself, or on outer packaging, documents, or an e-label if the device is too small for a physical label.
5. Any approved equipment with transmission power exceeding 20 mW, used at a distance of no more than 20 cm from the user, must display Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) information clearly and accessibly as a main technical characteristic on the equipment itself or on the packaging, accompanying documents, or e-label. This information must also be displayed on marketing displays, advertising, or internet sale of this equipment. A non-exhaustive list of devices under this requirement includes mobile phones, smartphones, tablets with SIM/eSIM card and/or Wi-Fi, smart watches with SIM/eSIM card, cellular routers and modems, walkie-talkies, laptops with SIM/eSIM card and/or Wi-Fi, and DECT or cordless phones. This requirement comes into force on May 1, 2025.

Brazil ANATEL Publishes Act No. 2105
The Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) in Brazil published Ato No. 2105 on February 14, 2025, which updates the technical requirements for the certification of cellular devices (Access Terminal Stations (ETA) and Mobile Phones). This new Act provides the test requirements for devices implementing the use of technologies such as 5G NB-NTN (Narrow Band Non-Terrestrial Networks), 5G RedCap (Reduced Capability) and 4G LTE Cat 1bis.
Indonesia's Komdigi Releases List of Non-MRA Foreign Testing Laboratories
The Indonesian Communications and Digital Commission (Komdigi) issued Decree No. 13 on January 15, 2025, specifying the list of non-MRA foreign testing laboratories for telecommunications equipment certification from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026. DEKRA China Laboratory has been included in the list, covering RF, EMC, and electrical safety testing categories.
Indonesia Komdigi Launches Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7
Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital (Komdigi) of Indonesia issued a press release on February 8, 2025, announcing the launch of Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 operating in the 6 GHz frequency band. In order to support this technology, Komdigi issued the following regulations:
1. Regulation No. 2 of 2025 concerning Amendments to the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Informatics Number 2 of 2024 concerning the use of radio frequency spectrum based on class permits.
2. Decree No. 12 of 2025 concerning radio frequency spectrum based on class permits and technical standards for telecommunications equipment/devices for radio local area networks (Radio Local Area Network).

China MIIT Publishes Trial Radar Radio Management Regulations
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China published a notice on January 24, 2025, issuing the Radar Radio Management Regulations (Trial Implementation). These Regulations clarify types of radars, refine technical requirements, optimize management procedures, and strengthen use supervision. They will come into effect on January 1, 2026.
Malaysia SIRIM Requires IPv6 Report
The Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) announced on February 10, 2025, that IPv6 reports will be mandatory for new type approval applications and certificate renewals for products with specifications supporting IPv6 and LTE cellular devices starting July 1, 2025. Local test labs for IPv6 are now available, and as a result interim approval for IPv6 equipment will end on July 10, 2025 and will not be extended.
Malaysia ST Releases the "Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2024"
Recently, the Energy Commission of Malaysia (ST) has promulgated the "Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2024" (EECA), which came into effect on January 1, 2025. Manufacturers and importers of the following product categories intended for sale in the Malaysian market are required to obtain a Certificate of Energy Efficiency (COE).

Starting from February 24, 2025, ST has implemented an interim measure to accommodate the demand for COE certificate applications. Applicants must follow the detailed instructions provided in the "2024 Guidelines for the Approval of Electrical Equipment" and submit the relevant documents listed in the guidelines (starting from page 43).
