Kazakhstan Amends Frequency Band Allocation Table

Kazakhstan has amended the Frequency Band Allocation Table on August 15, 2024, featuring changes to the following frequency bands:
→2170-2520 MHz
→4800-5250 MHz
→5250-5570 MHz
→5570-6700 MHz
→10-10.7 GHz

Qatar CRA Published Decision on Transition from FDD to TDD Technology of 2.6GHz

On 1st September 2024, The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) published a decision to the mobile network operators in Qatar, requesting mobile network operators to cease all operations using the current Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) technique in the 2.6 GHz band and migrate to high-speed Time Division Duplex (TDD) technology in the same band by 31st March 2025.

Hong Kong Published New Specifications for Wireless Devices

On 26th August 2024, the Office of the Communications Authority of Hong Kong (OFCA) published three standards for wireless devices, details are as below:
- HKCA 1039 Performance Specification for Radiocommunications Apparatus Operating in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Band and Employing Frequency Hopping or Digital Modulation
- HKCA 1084 Conformance Specification for Radiation Safety of Wireless Devices
- HKCA 2001 Compliance Test Specification
- Safety and Electrical Protection Requirements for Subscriber Telecommunications Equipment

Singapore IMDA Published Technical Specification for Security Requirements for Private Automatic Branch Exchanges

On 28th August 2024, the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) has published the finalized Technical Specification for Security Requirements for Private Automatic Branch Exchange IMDA TS PABX-SEC. The IMDA TS PABX-SEC specifies the minimum-security requirements for PABXs sold in Singapore, ensuring that these systems are better protected when purchased and deployed by enterprises, thus safeguarding both the telecommunication service providers’ networks and enterprises’ PABX from security threats from the internet.

Vietnam MIC to Require Type Approval for IP Cameras

The Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) of Vietnam has published a Draft Circular on National technical regulations on basic information security requirements for surveillance cameras using Internet protocol (IP) on August 23, 2024. Draft QCVN 135:2024/BTTTT will be mandatory beginning January 1, 2026, and IP cameras will be required to obtain type approval certification and a declaration of conformity under the Authority of Information Security.

India Has Included Certain Household/Commercial Appliances under the ISI Certification Scheme
