Serbia RATEL Releases Radio Frequency Band Allocation Regulations
On 29th July 2024, the Regulatory Body for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL) published an announcement to adopt the following regulations, which came into force from 27th July 2024.
- Rulebook on approval of the Radio Frequency Allocation Plan in the radio frequency bands 880-915/925-960 MHz, which establishes the Radio Frequency Allocation Plan for mobile/fixed communication networks for the provision of public electronic communication services in the radio frequency bands 880-915/925-960 MHz.
- Rulebook on establishing the Radio Frequency Allocation Plan in the radio frequency bands 1710-1785/1805-1880 MHz, which establishes the Radio Frequency Allocation Plan for mobile/fixed communication networks for the provision public electronic communication services in the radio frequency bands 1710-1785/1805-1880 MHz.

Saudi Arabia CST Publishes IoT Regulation
On 31st July 2024, the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) published the decision approving the Internet of Things Regulation. This IoT regulation is designed to regulate the IoT services in Saudi Arabia, which shall enter into force after (60) days from the date of its issuance.
Hong Kong OFCA Cease 2G Services
On 2nd August 2024, the Office of the Communications Authority of Hong Kong (OFCA) announced its decision to grant Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT, local operator) to cease 2G services on 8th November 2024. The spectrum currently used for 2G in the 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands will be redeployed to enhance 5G services. MHz和1800 MHz頻段將被重新部署給5G網路使用。
Indonesia KOMINFO Publishes LTE and 5G NR Technical Standard
The Minister of Kementrian Komunikasi dan Informatika (KOMINFO) of Indonesia published Keputusan Nomor 352 Tahun 2024 on Technical Standards for Telecommunications Equipment and/or Mobile Telecommunication Devices Based on Long Term Evolution Technology Standards and International Mobile Telecommunications-2020 Standards on July 25, 2024. This new regulation features the additional bands below for smartphones and other devices with WWAN features supported by WWAN base stations:

Australia Updates the List of Mandatory Certified Products
In August 2024, the government of New South Wales, Australia, announced that certain products will be included in the list of mandatory certified products, including the following:
- Electric micro-mobility devices
Electric bicycles
Electric scooters
Electric skateboards
Electric self-balancing vehicles
- Rechargeable lithium battery packs used in the above electric micro-mobility devices

The implementation timeline for the new requirements is as follows:

Revision of Korea's KC-EMC Regulations by the RRA
Recently, Korea's National Radio Research Agency (RRA) revised the KC-EMC regulations, which took effect on July 24, 2024.
The main change involves the implementation of the self-conformity confirmation. This means that for certain products, Korean importers can make a self-declaration based on compliant test reports. The affected products mainly include lighting, large household appliances with higher power, and high-power UPS.
